Ruth L C Simms (1921 – January 22nd, 2018) was a Detroit-born literary translator, specializing in Spanish-language literature. She worked for the Pan American Health Organization, the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce, and as a translator in the cryptography operation of the U.S. Army Signal Intelligence Service during World War II. She was among the early translators of notable Latin-American authors, and South American authors,
