This novella’s setting of an opulent but derelict and rotting mansion infected with the suggestion of long-ago deaths and violence ticked all of the spooky season boxes for me.

Leonor Fanny “Norah” Borges Acevedo (March 4, 1901 – July 20, 1998) was an Argentinian artist, a member of the Florida group, and a journalist. She did work as an activist, journalist, and artist for her entire life, giving away much of her artwork to avoid regular gallery showings.
Borges de Torre was the sister of Jorge Luis Borges and married to Guillermo de Torre.
