Samuel Shepard Rogers III was an American actor, playwright, author, musician, director, and screenwriter, with a fifty-year career. He was awarded a record 10 Obie Awards, and also the Pulitzer Prize and the Pen/Laura Pels Theater Prize. He was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1994.
