Soul of Wood
Jakov Lind’s Soul of Wood is technically an example of post-war German literature but I decided to include it anyway because all of these stories revolve around the second world war and its aftermath.

Jakov Lind (née Heinz Jakov Landwirth) was an Austrian-born British author of Jewish descent. As a child and teenager, he and his family was displaced several times and he survived living in Nazi Germany under a false identity.
