Max Hayward

Translator.

Max Hayward (July 28th, 1924 – March 18th, 1979) was a British translator of Russian literature and a lecturer on Russian literature. He was an official translator at the British foreign embassy in Moscow from 1947–1949 before returning to Britain. He received the PEN translation prize in 1971.
